Install the Addwell Chrome Extension

Capture product specs from any manufacturer page — Ferguson, Home Depot, Wayfair, Kohler, anywhere — directly into your Selections project. Five-minute setup, one time.

1

Add the extension to Chrome

Open the Chrome Web Store listing and click Add to Chrome. Chrome will prompt for permission to read pages — that's required so the extension can read the product info on whichever page you're viewing.

Open the Chrome Web Store →Privacy policy

The extension is currently unlisted — you'll need the direct link from your administrator. Once approved by Google, the link will live at chromewebstore.google.com.

On a Mac? Use Google Chrome (chrome.google.com) rather than Safari. Chrome on Mac is free and identical to the Windows version; Safari needs its own dedicated extension build that we don't ship today.

2

Sign in to Addwell

The extension piggybacks on your Addwell account. If you don't have one yet, your project admin will send you an invite email. Once you can sign in at app.addwell.design, you're ready for step 3.

3

Generate a personal token

The extension uses a token — a long string of letters and numbers — to identify you. You generate one in Addwell, paste it into the extension, and the extension uses it on every capture.

  1. Sign in at app.addwell.design.
  2. Click your initials in the top-right → Settings.
  3. Pick the Extension tab.
  4. Click + Generate token. Name it something memorable like "Chrome on my laptop".
  5. Copy the long token shown to you. You only see it once — keep it somewhere safe until step 4 is done.
Go to Settings → Extension →
4

Paste the token into the extension

Click the Addwell icon in your Chrome toolbar (the small puzzle piece may need a pin first — click it, then pin Addwell). On first open the extension asks for two things:

Once both are filled in and saved, the popup will load your projects.

5

Capture your first product

Visit any product page — a faucet on Ferguson, a tile on Wayfair, a fixture on Kohler. Click the Addwell icon. The popup reads the page, pulls out the spec details, and asks where to file it.

  1. Project — pick which Selections project the item belongs to.
  2. Room — pick the room (optional).
  3. Item match — if you already have an item placeholder (e.g. "Master Bath Faucet"), match into it. Otherwise leave on "Create new".
  4. Review — confirm the auto-filled spec, edit anything that looks off, hit Save.

On pages with multiple SKUs (Kohler finish family, vanity sizes, etc.) the popup will route through a variant picker first so you can pick the exact one.

Troubleshooting

"The popup says my token is invalid."

The token may have been revoked, or you may have copied it incorrectly. Go to Settings → Extension, revoke the old one, generate a fresh one.

"The popup shows projects but I don't see mine."

Your token might be scoped to a different organization. If you're a member of multiple orgs, regenerate the token from inside the correct org (use the account menu's "Switch organization" first).

"The extension extracted the wrong info."

Edit any field on the review screen before saving. The extension is reading the page's HTML — some sites bury the model number or finish, and the extractor's best guess is just a starting point.

"I need to use the extension on a second computer."

Generate a second token (name it for the second device). Tokens are per-device, not per-account.
